Awantipora, Jammu & Kashmir: Amid calls for concrete action against Pulwama attackers, the Jammu & Kashmir police made some headway in the investigation into the Pulwama suicide bombing.
Seven persons were detained from south Kashmir’s Awantipora and Pulwama by J&K police on Thursday night on suspicion of having links to the planning of the attack, as per the news agency PTI.
The dastardly attack by terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was the first of its kind where a car bomb was used to target the moving CRPF convoy. The attack is believed to be planned by conducted by one Kamran from JeM who operated from Pulwama, Awantipora, and Tral in south Kashmir. The fidayeen or suicide attack was carried by the Pakistan-based terror outfit’s Adil Amar Ahmad who hailed from Kakapora in J&K. The plan of the suicide bombing was hatched in the Medoora area of Tal.
A team of National Investigative Agency (NIA) reached the site of the bombing in Awantipora with the forensic team and collected the evidence for the investigation.
