No Placement Cell For Students In Ru Even After 70 Years Of Establishment | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Placement is the biggest concern of every student before admission to any college. Even after 70 years of its establishment, the University of Rajasthan does not have a separate placement cell of its own. In 2019, the varsity had organised a fair in convocation centre for placements, but no such cell was there in the institute.
ABVP state secretary Hushyar Meena said, “The university does not have a placement cell and students wander around to find jobs for themselves. At the end of the course, they had to struggle for getting placed. In the past, students have even protested for 22 days at a stretch for a placement cell. Though the vice-chancellor gave hope of having a placement cell soon, but nothing happened.”
“Most students find placements on their own with teachers helping them in finding jobs. Despite having no placement cell, data on website displays names of those who got jobs by themselves. The university does not play any role in providing them with those placements.” said officials.
In an era where there is such high competition and most students of private institutes exit their institutes with a job in their hands, Rajasthan University lacks in providing students placement opportunities. They are left to their own devices for finding jobs and struggle despite fulfilling all required qualifications.
“The affiliated colleges under the university have zero placements. Even professional courses like Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) have no placement opportunities. Students who go for government services or competitive exams don’t feel the need for placements but other students who look for placement opportunities find problems.” said Vinay Jadon, a student of BBA at the university of Rajasthan.
Rajeev Jain, vice-chancellor of the University of Rajasthan said, “The university does not have any placement cell as of now, but we are planning to set up one for students. Seeing the students’ need for placement opportunities, the university is now preparing and working upon the idea to have a placement cell.”
