In Rajasthan, two girls raped in separate incidents in Dholpur, Dausa | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: A 15-year-old girl was gang-raped by five persons in Dholpur. Three days after the incident the family lodged a FIR at Sadar police station on Friday. In another incident, an 18-year-old B. Ed. student returning home was offered a lift and raped at an isolated place near Dausa.
According to the police, in the first incident the minor girl had gone to her farm when five youths of the village, who were already hiding there, grabbed the girl. “The family stated that the incident took place on February 28,” said a senior police officer.
Hearing her screams thegirl’s mother rushed to the spot but by then all the five managed to flee. “It was also alleged that the accused’s families were not letting the family of rape survivor lodge an FIR. Her medical examination will be done, we are taking her statements,” the officer added.
Suresh Sankhla, circle officer, city has been assigned the task of investigating the case. Police have registered a case under appropriate sections of POCSO Act and IPC.
In the second case, an 18-year-old girl, waiting for conveyance at a place under Mahwa police station area of Dausa, was raped by a manwho lured her with lift in his car.
“The girl was waiting for commute in the evening to return home after college when a car stopped near her. The driver asked if he can drop her. The girl, trusting the man, sat inside the vehicle. The accused took her to an isolated spot and raped her,” said a senior police officer.
After the incident the girl managed to reach home late on Thursday evening and narrated her plight. “Based on the complaint by her family we have lodged a case and have launched a hunt to nab the driver,” the officer added.
