Gangster Bishnoi To Be Brought To City For Grilling In Hotel Case | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Police are preparing to bring notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to the city from Punjab for interrogation in the Days Hotel firing case.
A senior official told TOI that arrangements will be made to bring Bishnoi to Jaipur on production remand.
The gangster is one of the four persons booked for firing at the hotel on Saturday night. Sources said it is perhaps the first time that the core group of the Bishnoi gang are named together in an FIR in the state, and therefore it is important to bring the accused to Jaipur for interrogation. The four accused named in the FIR are Bishnoi, his brother Anmol Bishnoi, Rohit Godara and Ritik Thakurani alias Ritik Boxer.
The FIR states that Godara on January 8 had first called the hotelier for an extortion of Rs 5 crore. When the hotelier did not respond to Godara’s threat calls, Bishnoi stepped up and made an internet call to the hotelier.
The police FIR claims that Bishnoi instructed the hotelier to fulfil Godara’s demands. “Godara is a native of Bikaner district and is currently settled in Europe. He looked after Bishnoi’s syndicate in Rajasthan, whereas Ritik worked as a main henchman for Godara. They are all parts of the Bishnoi gang,” the official said.
Bishnoi is already facing heat for his involvement in the murder of famous Punjabi singer Sidhu Mosewala, and it would be an arduous task for the city police to bring him to Jaipur.
Bishnoi was last brought to the city on a production warrant from Tihar jail in 2021 in a similar extortion case. He was accused of threatening a leading businessman in Jawahar Nagar through his aide Sampat Nehra.
