Rape: Man arrested for raping six-year-old girl in Dausa during wedding ceremony | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Dausa police arrested a 28-year-old man on Saturday on charges of raping a six-year-old during a wedding ceremony. The accused, identified as Anil Kumar Meena (28), resides near Madhur Vihar Colony, situated in the vicinity of the hotel where the victim was staying.
Addressing the media, additional superintendent of police Bajrang Singh Shekhawat stated, “The accused had consumed alcohol prior to committing the crime. He is not related to the victim and he entered the hotel under the pretext of seeking help.”
The incident occurred during a wedding ceremony at the Hotel Marriage Garden in Kotwali Thana area of Dausa on Thursday. The victim’s mother had put her 6-year-old daughter and two other siblings to sleep in the hotel hall.
As they were leaving the function at around 11pm, the mother and grandmother took hold of a child each and were looking for someone to bring the third and eldest girl inside. The accused was loitering at the gate at the time and sensing an opportunity, he offered to bring the girl in. He found the girl alone and asleep in the hall. Taking advantage of the situation, he raped her. When the girl screamed, the accused silenced her, then picked her up and handed her to the grandmother. Afterwards, he roamed around the marriage garden before returning home.
“As the girl was crying in pain when he handed her over to the grandmother, the family thought she was disturbed in her sleep. However, after her condition deteriorated, she was admitted to hospital, where the family learned she had been raped,” said the police officer.
Police said that the accused confessed to the crime when he was interrogated.
A total of 10 teams, consisting of 250 police personnel, conducted inquiries with around 500 people associated with the bride and groom’s sides and scanned 150 CCTVs.
