Prakash Rajpurohit: Sambhar Fest Off To A Colourful Start | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Jaipur collector Prakash Rajpurohit inaugurated Sambhar Festival on Friday. The annual festival would take place till Sunday.
“The Sambhar Festival would not only attract tourists to this desert state but also take Rajasthan tourism to a new height,” Rajpurohit commented during the inauguration event.
Additional district collector (III) Ashok Sharma, who is the in-charge of the festival, said that several special events like bird watching to photography exhibition has been arranged in the event.
On Friday morning, the festival started with bike rally from Hotel Khasa Kothi in Jaipur to the banks of Sambhar Lake.
On the first day of the festival, there were events like art and craft festival, photography exhibition, camel ride, fancy kite flying and adventure activities like parasailing, street performance by folk artists, bird watching, sambhar salt train ride, trekking and talk shows on the history of the lake.
“On Saturday, famous Sufi singer Jassu Khan will be the centre of attraction. Besides, in the evening the Devyani Kund will be illuminated with 21,000 lamps under the Deepotsav programme,” said deputy director of tourism Upendra Singh Shekhawat.
