Armed Robbers Flee With Atm Having ₹30l In Bharatpur | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Six armed robbers uprooted and decamped with an ATM of the State Bank Of India (SBI) containing Rs 30 lakh near a bus stand under Roopwas police station area of Bharatpur on Sunday. The ATM was tied with a rope and pulled with the help of a jeep by the robbers.
According to police, the matter came to light in the morning on Sunday when some customers came to withdraw money from the booth. Soon after noticing that the ATM machine from kiosk was uprooted and missing, a team of senior police officers contacted the police and informed them about the incident.
“As per the CCTV footage available, six robbers entered into the ATM booth at 12.53 am on Sunday and checked the machine. Since no guard was available at the booth, they tied the machine with a rope and another end of rope was tied on a jeep. Later, with jeep it was pulled and uprooted. The robbers kept it in the jeep and managed to flee from the scene,” said a senior police officer of Roopwas police station.
Police said that the bank authorities informed that on Saturday evening the ATM was refilled with a cash of nearly Rs 30 lakh. “It was also found that no major withdrawal of money took place from this machine by customers till it was uprooted and robbed,” the officer added.
Soon after the incident the police started barricading and checking the vehicles. Police have also taken the CCTV grabs from the nearby toll booth of the state and national highways in Bharatpur to check the movement of the jeep.
A team of dog squad and a team from forensic unit also reached at the spot. “It appears that some organised gang involved in similar crime could be behind the act. Prima facie it appears that some inter-state gang is involved. We have got some evidence and clues and are working on them to solve the case,” said Shyam Singh, superintendent of police, Dholpur.
