10 illegal meat shops sealed in Jaipur | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The JMC-Greater administration has started acting against illegal meat shops after receiving complaints from people.
Mayor Somya Gurjar on Tuesday conducted a ground inspection and sealed 10 shops in the city. Officials said that surprise inspections will continue in the coming days and action will be taken against shops running without proper licences.
During the inspection on Tuesday evening, Arun Verma, chairman of animal welfare committee at JMC-Greater was also present.
“In many areas of JMC-Greater, meat shops are functioning without licences. We were receiving frequent complaints about this, and a surprise inspection was needed. Some shopkeepers are also keeping shops open on Tuesdays,” said Gurjar.
