14 Hurt In Clashes Over Sowing Of Crop On Disputed Land In Dausa | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Fourteen people, including five women, were injured in confrontation over sowing of crops on a dispute land at Jopara village under Sadar police station area of Dausa during early hours on Thursday. Among the injured nine people were seriously injured who were rushed to the SMS Hospital in Jaipur.
The incident took place when one of the groups led by one Latoor Yogi was sowing crop. Another group led by Kirori Lal Yogi, the cousin of Latoor claiming it to be their land started confrontation. “The confrontation was joined by women as well and both the groups attacked each other with batons and also pelted stones at each other,” said a senior police officer of Sadar police station.
“The verbal spat turned into violent confrontation when one of the men was slapped. Soon after the incident, some people of the village intimated the police. Our team rushed to the spot and took the injured to the hospitals,” the officer added.
Police so far have recorded the statements of head of the families of the two confronting groups. “Both the groups are reluctant to lodge a case against each other. Our team had visited the spot and took them to the hospital. We will act as per the complaints given by the families,” said Praveen Kumar Meena, the station house officer of Sadar police station.
Both the families were at loggerheads on this issue quite a few times earlier and are fighting a legal battle against each other too.
Further investigation in the case was on, police added.
