Barmer: Boy dies of snake bite, kin allege hospital laxity | Jaipur News

JAISALMER: A 5-year-old boy was bitten by a snake and was taken to Chauhatan hospital but the boy died for not getting timely treatment on Thursday night.
Alleging negligence by doctors, the family members and people of the community gathered at in hospital premises. They refused to take the body and started dharna demanding action against the doctors.
On getting information, Chauhatan SDM and SHO reached the spot.
Later, Chauhatan MLA reached the spot and after speaking to CMHO, two doctors of Chauhatan PHC were put on APO.
Following this,the family members agreed to take the body and ended the dharna Late on Thursday, Chauhatan resident Rishi Singh (5) was sleeping at his home when a snake bit him and family members took him to hospital. The family members alleged that they reached hospital around 12am but the doctor was not there and despite repeatedly calling him he did not come.
After general check-up, the family members were sent to a private hospital. The family alleged that the child was crying in pain but the doctor did not reach. The child died as he didn’t get treatment on time. Family members started dharna at the hospital. On getting information, SDO Bhagirath Choudhary reached the hospital and persuaded the family. Chauhatan SHO Bhuttaram and zilla parishad member Roop Singh Rathore reached the hospital.
