Jaipur: A committee headed by chief secretary Usha Sharma conducted interviews of applicants for the post of principal at SMS Medical College as Dr Sudhir Bhandari’s tenure will end on July 4.
Sources said out of 37 doctors who had applied for the top post, 28 had appeared in interviews.
The committee will send its recommendations to the state government after conducting the interviews.
According to the government’s rule, a doctor can hold an administrative post up to the age of 62, but as a doctor he can continue his services till 65 years of age.
The committee discussed some of the important issues of SMS Medical College as the state government is giving special focus on healthcare and making healthcare facilities accessible to all by making the OPD and IPD facilities free of cost in government hospitals. The candidates were asked about how they will manage increasing crowd at the hospital along with question on expanding healthcare facilities for patients.
