3 ’91-batch Ips Officers Promoted To Dg Rank | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The state government on Thursday promoted three senior IPS officers of the 1991 batch to director general (DG) rank.
The senior officers —Saurabh Srivastava, A Ponnuchamy, and Dharam Chand Jain—were elevated from the rank of Additional DG (ADG).
Srivastava is currently heading the police headquarters wing, Ponnuchamy heads the police housing division, and Jain is posted in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Director-general of police (DGP) Umesh Mishra congratulated the promoted officers and wished them success.
Rajasthan police now have 10 DG-rank IPS officers. Umesh Mishra is the DGP of the state police, Bhupendra Kumar Dak is the DG jail, UK Sahoo is the DG home guards, Nina Singh is posted on central deputation with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Rajeev Kumar Sharma heads the Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA), Ravi Prakash Meharda is the DG of civil rights and cybercrime, and Janga Sriniwas Rao is the DG for personnel and training.
While two DGs are currently on central deputation, the rest are heading different divisions of the state police.
There are more than 190 IPS officers in Rajasthan.
