3 Held For Abducting Builder & Extorting 10l | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Three men were held on Friday for allegedly abducting a 45-year-old New Delhi-based builder by promising to show him a prized property and let him go after taking a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from him.
DCP (East) Gyan Chand Yadav said a special team from Ramnagariya police station arrested the accused, identified as Jagdish Meena, Kamal Meena and Bheem Singh. He said the incident took place in January.
“The accused also robbed the victim’s car in which he travelled to Jaipur. We have that car and probe is underway,” he said. SHO (Ramnagariya) Vishnu Kumar Khatri said the incident took place in January when Jagdish lured the victim to come to Jaipur on the pretext of showing a property.
“Jagdish had worked with the victim a few years ago in a property deal. Things did not work out as the victim had asked him to return the pending dues. They stopped talking to each other until Jagdish a few months ago called the victim and told her that a property was available in Jaipur,” Khatri said, adding that the victim initially did not want to come to Jaipur, but Jagdish also promised to return the remaining amount.
The victim travelled to Jaipur in his luxury car, where the accused abducted him. “The accused first robbed the victim’s car. They then took him to a secluded place where they beat him up. The accused extorted Rs 10 lakh from the victim through online payment transfers,” Khatri said, adding that the accused also forced the victim to sign a few documents.
The victim returned to Delhi, where he filed a complaint at a local police station.
