Kota: Seven people were swept away by flooded waters of rivers in separate incidents in Kota, Bundi and Baran in 24 hours. Two were rescued. Two bodies were recovered on Tuesday while two others are yet to be traced.
SHO of Kawai police station said, Ekram (20), a resident of Khedi Shekhapur village under Kawai police station was swept away into flooding brook while he along with his two friends was going across the overflowing water in the village on Monday. Two youths were rescued by the locals. The search operation by NDRF and SDRF squads is underway, however the body could not be fished out so far, he added.
Similarly, body of Premnarayan Suman (35), a resident of Baran was recovered near his village. While going across a flooding brook on way to his home on Monday, Suman was swept away, DSP Anta circle, Tarun Kant Somani said. The body was handed over to the family members after post-mortem.
Similarly, Satyanarayan Prajapat (50), a resident Bundi fell into overflooding anicut and was swept away into deep water on Tuesday while he was on way to collect fodder for cattle near his village. His body has been handed over to his family. In another case, search for one Kudeep Chauhas is on.
Five persons of a family sustained injuries in Dug town of Jhalawar after Kaccha house collapsed over them on Tuesday due to rain.
