5,877 People Get Benefits Under Chiranjeevi Plan: Min Dhariwal | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Parliamentary affairs minister Shanti Dhariwal said in the assembly on Tuesday that 5,877 cases have been approved for payment to the insured families under the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Accidental Insurance Scheme.
The minister while replying to a question said in cases of delay in payment, a dual system of appeal has been set up to provide relief to the victims. He informed that out of 10,000 applications received under Chiranjeevi Accidental Insurance Scheme, 5,877 applications have been accepted, 1155 applications have been rejected due to ineligibility. He said that 2,750 cases are pending due to lack of documents and 218 cases are under process at the departmental level.
In the written reply to the question of Sandeep Sharma, the minister said that in this scheme implemented from May 1, 2022, there is a provision of giving Rs 5 lakh in case of death. Rs 3 lakh is payable for permanent loss of both limbs, hands, eyes and Rs 1.5 lakh is payable for permanent loss of one of the two limbs, or hands or eyes. Under the scheme only a maximum of Rs 5 lakh will be paid to the family in a year. For the assistance amount in the scheme, the applicant has to apply free of cost on the website itself or at the E-Mitra centre. Under the Chiranjeevi scheme, insurance amount is not payable in cases of murder, he said.tnn
