JAIPUR: Bajaj Nagar police were left in a quandary after a 73-year-old man lodged a complaint against his wife for allegedly beating him and threatening to mix poison in his milk.
Police said that the complainant, a resident of Barkat Nagar, had married a 63-year-old woman last year after his first wife passed away.
The man alleged that everything in his life continued peacefully until his new wife began to scold him and asked him to use different towels.
The man complained that his wife purchased jewellery items worth nearly Rs 1.25 lakh without telling him. He said that his wife has now been demanding Rs 10,000 per month for herself.
He claimed that his wife has been asking him to transfer his property to her name. He alleged that his wife recently asked him to pay Rs 73,000 to her. When he asked her why she needed such a huge amount, she pushed him.
He alleged that her wife has now been threatening to implicate him in a false case by causing harm to herself.
The police said that the case was registered following a court complaint. The police said that the FIR was registered under IPC Sections 384 (extortion), 379 (theft), and 420 (cheating).
