7k Illegal Hoardings, Posters Removed As Part Of Clean Drive | Jaipur News

Jaipur: As part of a mega campaign for beautification of the city, around 7,000 illegal hoardings and posters have been removed in the past month from JMC-Greater areas, officials said.
The campaign, which started on June 13, will continue till July 9. Zones where action would take place would include Malviya Nagar, Jagatpura, Sanganer, Jhotwara, Murlipura, among others. As part of the campaign, illegal hoardings and advertisements, posters, banners put up in the city are being removed by the authorities. Till now, no fines are being imposed on those who placed the illegal hoardings, but action will be taken after July 9.
JMC-Greater commissioner Mahendra Soni said, “This is after a long time that such a rigorous campaign is being undertaken in the city. We are removing all such illegal hoardings which act as hurdles. Till now, no fine is being imposed on any of the defaulters and only action in terms of removal is being taken, but after July 9, we might start acting. The zone head concerned will be responsible if any such illegal hoardings or advertisements are found in their areas during inspection after July 9.”
Officials said there are designated sites where companies and individuals can install such advertisements, but at present they are being set up at any location. This leads to a loss of revenue for the municipal corporation, said officials.
