Scissors Found In Dead Man’s Body, Probe Ordered | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The Jaipur police were left bewildered when a man complained that his 74-year-old father died due to alleged negligence by doctors who left surgical scissors inside his body during an operation. SHO (Jawahar Circle) Surendra Saini confirmed that a complaint has been lodged in this regard.
The same complaint was then dispatched to the medical authorities for further investigation since cops claimed it was beyond the ambit of their jurisdiction to ascertain a surgical mishap of such nature. The Jaipur police said that no FIR was filed in the case.
“A man filed a complaint at the Jawahar Circle police station wherein he alleged his father, Upendra Kumar, underwent surgery at a private hospital on May 30. He got discharged after the surgery and died on June 12,” said an official. The official said the family made a shocking discovery when they visited the cremation ground on June 15 to collect ashes, where they also found a pair of scissors. Later in the day, health minister Parsadi Lal Meena also ordered an inquiry into the matter and constituted a three-member committee headed by public health director Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur. It will submit report within seven days.
