Mobile Tower Parts Worth ₹50l Seized, Four Held | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The crime branch of the Jaipur police arrested four members of a gang on Friday and recovered Rs 50 lakh worth of remote radio units (RRUs), a key component used in mobile towers.
Additional commissioner of police (crime) Kailash Chandra Bishnoi informed TOI that the police arrested Mohammad Usman, Naresh Kaman, Bhagirath Mal, and Lakshman Dhakad for their alleged involvement in the crime. Bishnoi stated that the police team also successfully recovered 22 RRUs worth over Rs 50 lakh. “Usman is a scrap merchant and is involved in dealing with RRUs. One RRU is worth about Rs 3.5 lakh,” Bishnoi said.
Last week, the crime branch team, led by Inspector Mangi Lal Vishnoi, had busted a similar gang involved in stealing RRUs from mobile towers. One official said that a remote radio unit (RRU) is a key component of a network base station that is responsible for transmitting and receiving signals.
