Yoga Teachers In State Univs To Be Regularised, Bill Passed | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The state assembly has passed the Rajasthan Universities Teachers (Amendment) Bill – 2023 allowing temporary Yoga teachers in the state-funded universities on a contract basis to be regularised through screening by a voice vote on Monday. However, BJP, during the debate, termed it a tool to grant favour to chief minister Ashok Ghelot’s close aide.
Higher education minister Rajendra Singh Yadav said that in 2008 more than 300 teachers working in state-funded universities on a contract basis were regularised.“During the last amendment, the temporary teachers/yoga instructors working in the university prior to 2008 were left out. In the present bill those Yoga teachers who were left out have been considered for regularisation,” said Yadav.
Questioning the bill, Vidhyadhar Nagar MLA Narpat Singh Rajvi told the house that the entire exercise is being done to grant favour to the Yoga teacher who is CM’s Yoga instructor also. “The bill is intended to absorb the teacher who is employed as an instructor at Rajasthan University on contract,” said Rajvi.
Leader of opposition Rajendra Rathore, reminded the government, that in their manifesto in 2018 the party promised to regularise contractual employees at NHRM, para-teachers, Lok Jumbish, Aanganwadi, etc.
