Commissioner Asks Dcps, Shos To Monitor Lockups Every Hour | Jaipur News
A 42-year-old man, identified as Lalit Bairwa, was found dead inside the toilet of the lockup at Muhana police station area in Jaipur on Sunday noon. The deceased, a history-sheeter from the Sanganer Sadar area, had been arrested for theft. Soon after the incident a judicial probe was ordered in this matter.
“It is required that the police station staff should follow all the protocols while handling the person or group of persons arrested in a case and are kept in lockup during their police remand. Though these incidents are not many, we need to be careful,” Srivastav said while talking to TOI. He added that he spoke with DCPs and SHOs on Monday and has given them instructions in this regard.
“I have told them that the SHOs should ensure that the guard of the police station and other staff should keep an eye on the movement of person or group of persons kept in the lockups. Also in every one hour the lockups need to be checked properly,” he added.
