Indian Army: Army Conducts Combat Desert Training Exercise | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: The two-day desert combat training exercise of the Indian Army conducted at the Pokhran field firing range concluded on Friday. The range was converted into a war zone displaying the army’s combined fire power and strength, unarmed combat skills and professional weapons training.

Earlier on Thursday, a scene of the exercise was presented in the Longewala Battle Field in the context of the war fought in 1971. In this exercise, Indian Army’s T-90, Arjun tank and other weapons, displaying their strong firepower, presented a victory scenario over the enemy with the help of combat helicopters of the Indian Air Force. During the training exercise, Battle Axe Division GoC Major General Yogendra Singh Paul and other senior army officers were present.
Soldiers of the Battle X Division, under the Southern Command of the Indian Army, presented a vigorous view of their two-day exercise in the desert areas. The infantry division of the Indian Army showed their strength in the desert by presenting their strong fighting skills. The entire Pokhran firing range reverberated with the explosion of shells fired by Arjun tanks and T-90 tanks, BMPs along with other guns on the enemy’s camouflaged positions.

The soldiers of the Indian Army showcased that during a war scenario, if a weapon is left somewhere or the ammunition gets exhausted, then how can they defeat the enemy soldier by controlling them with their stamina. They also displayed a battlefield scenario where the Indian Army received information that the enemy had entered the Indian territory, and took the area under their control by making bunkers at various places. Through the exercise it was shown how coordinated efforts of the army and the air force could give them an upper hand.
