Kota: Man Electrocuted In Kota, Kin Get Assurance Of Compensation | Jaipur News

Kota: A 32-year-old man was electrocuted after he accidently touched an iron railing of a transformer at Nayapura area in Kota city on Tuesday night. Demanding a compensation of Rs 50 lakh, his family demonstrated on Wednesday morning and blocked the road for around an hour at Nayapura Circle following which the administrative officials and police rushed to the spot.
The kin agreed for last rites after assurance of compensation of Rs 10 lakh, including Rs 5 lakh from the power company and Rs 5 lakh would be recommended by district administration to state government with contractual job to the deceased man’s wife.
The deceased man, identified as Ravi Kumar, had gone to a tea stall at Naval Circle on Tuesday night when it was drizzling. While returning, he accidentally touched an iron railing around the transformer with one of his hands and received a fatal electric shock and collapsed on the ground. He was immediately rushed to MBS Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.
Holding the private power company responsible for the death, Ravi’s family members accompanied by members of community and local BJP leaders staged demonstration at Naval Circle on Wednesday morning.
