Veterinary Medicine: Second Veterinary Univ Will Come Up In Jobner | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The state is all set to become first in the country to have more than one university dedicated to veterinary and animal sciences. The state government on Thursday issued the notification for the establishment of Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in Jobner. Earlier this year in the assembly session, animal husbandry minister Lalchand Kataria had presented a bill related to this.
Presently, a university dedicated to animal husbandry exists in Bikaner.
With this, children from rural families will also get an opportunity to get education coupled with the latest techniques of veterinary medicine and animal science.
Kataria said: “To save livestock and move forward in the field of veterinary medicine, the second veterinary and animal science university of the state is being opened in Jobner. Rajasthan is the first state in the country where there will be two veterinary and animal science universities.”
The Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (RAJUVAS), Bikaner, came into existence on 2010. As per the government, there are 5.66 lakh livestock and 1.46 lakh poultry properties in the state.
According to new data from the Government of India, the state ranks first in milk production in the country.
