Limits: Graft has crossed all limits, no point in raising a finger at Centre: Rajyavardhan | Jaipur News

A two-term MP from Jaipur Rural parliamentary constituency and now a candidate from Jhotwara assembly constituency, Col (retired) Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore feels that his role as an MLA, if elected, would be more challenging. The former union minister spoke to TOI. Excerpts:
From being a two-term MP to contesting a state poll, how do you see your chances at victory?
I am 100% sure about winning this assembly election.People have seen the Modi government’s works. They have seen how our schemes get delivered at the grassroot levels. People have seen our commitment to serve them. As an MP of the Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha constituency, I have done my best to bring all schemes of the Modi government to my people, who would again vote for me to ensure thatBJP government’s schemes reach each and every household of this constituency.
It means, you are sure that BJP would form the government in Rajasthan this time?
Once again, I am 100% sure that BJP would come to power in Rajasthan. Why not? No people can allow a government mulled with corruption to run for years. To ensure a transparent and corruption-free government, people would bring BJP back to power.
Congress has accused the Union government of using central probe agencies to win the state elections?
The raids by the central agencies have been against the corruption in JJM projects in the state and for IT related issues. There are other scams also like the paper leak cases. Corruption has crossed all limits in Rajasthan and there is no point in raising a finger at the Union government. On the other hand, look at the Modi government; it is digitalising India to bring transparency in administration. Now there is the DBT system for each and every beneficiary of government schemes. It ensures that 100% of the money reaches only to the beneficiary’s account. For a fair election, the government has arranged polling at home for the differently-abled senior citizens; their votes would not go wasted. This is a sign of a healthy nation and the people of Rajasthan, by and large, want BJP for all-round peace and progress of the state.
From being a Union minister, you have been nominated for an MLA seat. Is it a demotion?
Not at all. As an MP, I had a specific role to connect my constituency with the government in Delhi. As an MLA, my role would be more important. I will have to keep track of all minor problems of the constituency and its people and solve those issues. My role would get more challenging. I am happy with the (party’s) decision because now I can spend more time with the people in my home state.
