Engineer: Engr, Assistant Hurt In Kota Riverfront Mishap Die During Treatment | Jaipur News

Kota: An engineer and his assistant died during treatment on Sunday evening after they sustained critical injuries in mishap earlier in noon while they were taking out heavy metal bell from mold boxes in Chambal Riverfront in Kota.
Casting engineer of the metal bell, identified as Devendra Arya (62), a resident of Jodhpur and his assistant Chotu Singh (20), a resident of Dholpur, sustained critical injuries in a mishap around 3pm on Sunday while they were engaged taking out heavy metal bell from mold boxes with the help of hydraulic crane.
Engineer Arya and Chotu Singh lost balance and fell from around 35ft height.
“The two sustained critical injuries in the mishap and were rushed to a private hospital where Chotu Singh was declared brought dead while Devendra Arya died during treatment in ICU around 5pm,” SHO at Kunhari police station Mahenedra Meena said. Meanwhile, Dhananjaya Arya, son of the deceased engineer, accused UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal, who is also local MLA, and chief architect Anoop Bartaria of mounting pressure to unlock the bell from 27 casting mold boxes before its set timeline.
SHO Mahendra Meena said the two bodies were placed in mortuary for postmortem to be conducted on Monday morning after family members of deceased Chotu Singh arrive here and added the kin of deceased engineer Arya, have not given any report so far. Notably, the bell, single piece cast and moulded of 13 metals and weighing around 75kg with its ringing audible in 8km area was claimed to be the world largest bell and was going to be hanged at Chambal Riverfront.

Gurmeet Singh Kunnar, the Congress candidate from Karanpur assembly constituency in Rajasthan, has died at the age of 75 while receiving treatment at AIIMS-Delhi. He was the sitting MLA from Karanpur and had been admitted to AIIMS on November 12. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed his condolences and praised Kunnar’s dedication to development work in his area. Kunnar’s cause of death was sepsis with septic shock and renal disease. The Rajasthan assembly elections are scheduled for November 25.
