Will Win 90 To 100 Seats, Form Govt With Help Of Others: Cong | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The ruling Congress party hopes to win between 90-100 seats and retain power in the state with the help of ‘others’. The party is in touch with about half a dozen rebels who are likely to win, said the leaders.
Leaders on condition of anonymity said according to their assessment the party is likely to win seats close to the halfway mark and could be able to form the government with some help from like-minded parties.
PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra after the polling claimed that the party could get almost the same number of seats it won last time. The Congress won 100 seats, one seat short of majority in the 200-seat assembly in the 2018 elections, and formed the government with the help of Independents and others. The ruling party sees a surge in favour of the party in the last leg of the elections.
The party also attributes the outnumbering of women voters compared to men to its ‘guarantees’.
The party had promised Rs 10,000 into the accounts of women heads of the family and other six guarantees which the party hoped attracted the women voters.
Prof Sanjay Lodha state co-ordinator of Lokniti Rajasthan said, “The outcome of the assembly elections could be unexpected and different from the pre-poll surveys.”
He pointed out that the above-average voting in the constituencies of SC/ST and Muslim concentrated seats is an acknowledgment of the benefits of the various welfare schemes of the state government. There are 34 SC seats while 25 seats are reserved for STs. Muslims hold a critical say in about 40 constituencies. These seats witnessed between 75-78% polling. There are close to 100 such constituencies, he said.
He claims that the BJP was not successful in polarising voters as the urban areas which were the strongholds of the saffron party showed below average voting.
“According to initial analysis, there are about 50 plus seats where 65-70% voting was reported which is less than the average voting in western, central Rajasthan, and urban areas of the state where the saffron party has an influence.
According to him, it is not counter mobilisation of BJP’s Hindutva as Kushalgarh in Banswara district which had recorded the highest percentage of polling (88.13%) is a tribal seat where 90% of voters are tribals but the state government guarantees.

Mahayuti will win 40-42 LS seats in state: Fadnavis
Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis assures that the Mahayuti alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP under the leadership of Eknath Shinde is united with no leadership change anticipated. Campaigning will begin after the state legislature’s winter session in December. Fadnavis aims to resolve the Maratha quota issue amicably and within the framework of the law, ensuring the reservation for OBCs remains undisturbed. Protests and violence have erupted across the state in support of Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange’s agitation, while OBC groups have held meetings to protect their quota.
