CM orders inquiry into the incident
Jairam Thakur condemned the incident ordered inquiry into the matter.
“The chief minister of Himachal Pradesh has ordered an inquiry into the cowardly incident involving the raising of Khalistan flags at the gate of the Dharamsala Assembly Complex. Himachal Police will catch the accused soon,” Himachal’s BJP said in a tweet.

“The people of Himachal will not forgive whatever political thinking is behind all this,” it added.
Himachal BJP chief Suresh Kashyap also condemned the incident and affirmed that the state was “standing like a rock with chief minister.”

Local MLA Vishal Nehria said termed the incident disgusting and an act of cowardice carried out in the darkness of night.
“We, the Himachalis, and the Indians are not afraid of any threats from the supporters of so-called Khalistan,” the MLA said. The National Secretary of Congress Sudhir Sharma also termed the incident as unfortunate.
FIR registered
Kangra police have registered the FIR. DGP Sanjay Kundu has constituted six-member Special Investigation Team to probe the incident.
The SIT has been directed to take up the investigation of this case immediately and carry out professional and impartial investigation to ensure transparency.
The SIT has also been asked to contact with the state and Central Intelligence agencies to unearth the inter-state and international linkages, if any.
CM orders beefing up security along Himachal borders
Chief minister Jairam Thakur said that the government will review the security along the borders with various states.
His remarks came after the Superintendent of Police, Kangra, suspected the hands of “some tourists from Punjab” in the incident.
Speaking to ANI, Thakur said, “I condemn the incident. I urge the people of the state to maintain peace. Action will be taken against the perpetrators. We will soon review the security system at our borders with other states.”
The chief minister further informed that an FIR has been registered following the incident and a probe has been ordered to nab the culprits.
“The incident is unfortunate and I have ordered a probe. An FIR has also been registered and we are trying to catch the culprits,” he said.
“It is being said that the incident took place at night. The police are deployed in the interior of the Vidhan Sabha campus since it is very large. So the poster was put up on the wall and the main gate of the Assembly. The CCTV footage is being probed to get a clue about the culprits,” the chief minister said.
BJP failed in ensuring national security: AAP
Meanwhile, AAP took a dig the BJP, asking how will its government save the people of the country when it failed in ensuring national security.
Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia said that the putting up of the Khalistan flags outside the gate of Himachal assembly building in Dharamshala was a “complete” failure of the BJP government in dealing with the matter pertaining to national security and keeping the respect of the people of the hill state.
“The Entire BJP is trying to save one goon and Khalistani left putting up flags there (at the gate of Himachal Pradesh Assembly,” Sisodia said on Twitter.
