Rs 117-crore makeover for Mahila Chikitsalaya at Jaipur’s SMS Hospital | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The Mahila Chikitsalaya of the Sawai Man Singh Medical College will soon get a new Rs 85.57 crore 500-bed indoor patient department (IPD) tower along with a Rs 21.43 crore 100-room postgraduate hostel, medical equipment worth about Rs 10 crore, 50-bed ICU, six modular OTs and underground parking lot.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has altogether approved a Rs 117-crore makeover to improve the facilities at the facility in the hospital.
In connection with the additional Budget provision, Gehlot has also given the nod to the medical education department to utilise the amount sanctioned under the Emergency Covid Response Package 2(ECRP-2) of the National Health Mission. In the 2022-23 Budget, Gehlot had announced various development works at the Mahila Chikitsalaya.
As of now, the government is already constructing a Rs 588-crore world IPD tower and medical facilities at the SMS Hospital.
The state government has also increased the cashless treatment under the Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bhima Yojana from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Accident insurance of up to Rs 5 lakh is also being provided for families under the scheme. The OPD and IPD facilities are being provided free-of-cost at all government hospitals from April 1.
