Mahapadao: Scuffle breaks out between two groups of Sarpanch Sangh in Jaipur | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: As protesters belonging to Sarpanch Sangh organised a Mahapadao on Friday, a scuffle broke out between two factions of the sangh over the issue of removal of Ramesh Chand Meena as rural development and panchayati raj minister at the protest site in Mansarovar.
According to informed sources, while one group stuck to their demand of removal of Ramesh Chand Meena as rural development and panchayati raj minister, the other group only wanted the promises made to them in writing by the state government fulfilled. Police personnel had to intervene to bring the situation under control.
According to Hanuman Chaudhary, secretary, Sarpanch Sangh, Meena had alleged there was corruption amounting to Rs 300 crore in MGNREGA works in many districts and sarpanches were involved in it. Amid rains and water-logging at the protest site, sarpanches had to attend the mahapadao placing their chairs in the water. Many chairs at the site remained empty due to water-logging. Later, a 21-member delegation met state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra at his residence and demanded fulfillment of all the promises made to them in writing, including removal of the minister.
