A special parking space has been earmarked at Shiv Vihar near Hotel Clarks Amer, where the famous event is being held.
This space is designated for people heading to the event with a pass. Entry of vehicles to this parking lot will be through Shiv Vihar, but exit from the Ram Path side, said officials. A second parking lot is being made available near the cut on the intersection of Jawahar Circle and Jagatpura.
Traffic police also said special “pick and drop” vehicles have been arranged for participants. “These special vehicles will operate from the main gate of Hotel Clarks Amer. These vehicles will move on the service lane alongside JLN Marg and exit from the service lane near SL Cut,” said an official.
Police said vehicular traffic on the service lane between Jawahar Circle and Hotel Clarks Amer would be completely prohibited, except for residents of the area. Parking will be prohibited anywhere around the hotel, JLN Marg and Jawahar Circle area, they added.
Special arrangements have been made by the city police to ensure that vehicles responding to medical emergencies are not affected by the traffic restrictions.
More personnel are being deployed to manage vehicular movement, said officials.
“All SHOs have been briefed about the security planning. Special teams will be posted at the hotel to assist the local police,” said an official.
