Gulab Chand Kataria hits out at Rajasthan govt over paper leaks, vacant posts | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The Leader of the Opposition, Gulab Chand Kataria, on Thursday resumed his attack on the state government on the paper leak issue and questioned the engagement of private agencies for conducting the REET examination.
During a debate on the Governor’s address, Kataria said that district collectors and SPs were given responsibilities for the examination in a meeting chaired by the chief secretary on September 15 last and that a review meeting chaired by the CM was held on September 23 to ensure this.
“Who hired the private people? When it was decided that the paper would be kept at different centres, on whose directions was it kept at Shiksha Sankul? Why were private persons given responsibility? If the paper comes out from the double lock, who will the students of Rajasthan blame?” asked Kataria.
The senior BJP legislator said the paper leak in teacher recruitment examination was a huge scandal. “At 8 in the night, these students sat in the bus to solve the leaked paper, and the paper was given to them at 2 O’clock. The SP chased and caught the accused. The future of students will remain compromised till that time all the accused in the paper leak cases are caught,” he said.
Kataria also said that 33% of posts of teachers are lying vacant in the state. “After upgrading 1,700 English medium schools in the state, the government did not sanction even a single post for them. These schools have no qualified people who can speak English,” said Kataria. He also said appointments being made at these schools smacked of nepotism.
Kataria also said the state government, despite having promises to waive off the loans of farmers, attached the land of 15,800 farmers who were defaulters.
