1.9% Trained Apprentices From State | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Only 41,836 (1.9% of the total) apprentices, out of 21.96 lakh in the country, have been enrolled in Rajasthan from 2016-17 to January 30, 2023, as a part of the apprenticeship training under Apprentices Act, 1961, data from the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship said.
In all, 10.94 lakh people have been trained in Rajasthan in these years, informed the minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, in a reply to an unstarred question in Lok Sabha on February 6.
“Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and the Rules is one of the key schemes for skill development of the youth in the country, including in Rajasthan, and contributes to the ‘Skill India’ programme,” the reply stated.
As many as 15,191 people in Rajasthan have benefited from the Centre’s Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) between 2018-19 and 2022-23 up to February 1, 2023, as per the data. It is just 3.4% of the total ESDP beneficiaries in the whole country, which stands at 4.34 lakh, according to the data. TNN
