Schoolteacher recruitment examination: Net ban extended in Jaipur today | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: District collector Prakash Rajpurohit on Sunday extended temporary internet ban in entire Jaipur even on Monday (February 27).
With this directive, there won’t be any internet services in areas under the jurisdiction of police stations of Jaipur Commissionerate from 6am to 6pm on Monday.
“The suspension is applicable for mobile internet services, bulk SMSes and MMS within the police commissionerate limits till 6pm on Monday. Voice calls and broadband services have been left out of the ambit of suspension,” said an official from the district collectorate.
Along with Jaipur, similar shutdowns have been ordered even for Kota.
Officials stated that the ban was imposed following requests from Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) to hold a fair direct schoolteacher recruitment examination.
Nearly 9 lakh students would appear in the competitive exam for the recruitment of primary Level-I (class 1 to 5), and upper primary Level-II (class 6 to 8) schoolteachers in 11 cities across the state. Among them, around 3 lakh students have been given centres in Jaipur alone. “The exam is scheduled to be held till March 1. Government would take decision for other days after monitoring the situation on daily basis,” another official added.
