Jaisalmer: Violence In Jaisalmer After Youth’s Body Found Hanging | Jaipur News
Jaisalmer: The suspicious death of a 22-year-old youth from the minority community, whose body was found hanging on Sunday morning in a building in Gandhi Colony area here, led to mob violence on the streets and demands by the family to book 5 persons for murder. Police said that prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide but an FIR has been lodged on the complaint of the family.
After the body was found, a crowd gathered outside the local police station and began burning a tyre and causing damage to public properties at Hanuman Chauraha. Kotwali police reached the spot and controlled the crowd.
The family members refused to take the body and asked for registering a murder case against 5 named accused. The police persuaded the family to allow sending the body to Jawahar hospital for postmortem. Police also registered a case against the 5 named accused and later called three of them to police station for inquiry.
Circle officer Priyanka Kumawat said that Rafique (22), resident of Kesuon ki Basti, was working at a hostel of a coaching centre in Gandhi Colony. His family members said they were trying to contact him on his phone number for the last three days but there was no answer. On Saturday night, a youth who worked with Rafique saw his body hanging in a local building. The spot was checked by police on Sunday and an FSL team was also called there.

She also said that in the room where the body was found, songs were playing on a loop on a mobile phone kept nearby, with the phone connected to a charger. No suicide note was found, though, the officer said.
