Jaipur: Jagat Polo edged out Cavallo Polo Barn by a wafer-thin margin to clinch the Jaipur Polo Cup title here on Sunday. The annual tournament was organized by the Jaipur Riding and Polo Club as part of the ongoing JRPC Polo Season at Bindaiyka.
Lance Watson stole the show as the experienced campaigner helped Jagat Polo team win 8-7.5 with a brilliant all-round performance. The final lived up to the pre-match expectations as both teams fought hard for each goal. In the end, Jagat Polo had the last laugh as they claimed the crown by just half a point.
Lance and Diamond’s partnership worked wonders and helped their team emerge winners.
The Cavallo Polo team fought hard till the end and kept the spectators on the edge of their seats with their never-say-die attitude. Vishal Singh waged a lone battle and kept Cavallo in the game till the final moments of the match.
Top performer of the final, Lance Watson admitted it was a close contest. “We are happy that we won the final, but it was not easy. Vishal Singh and his teammates fought bravely and made our task quite tough. We had a game-plan and we stuck to it despite facing so many challenges. I am happy to finish on the winning side because it was only our third match as a team,” a jubilant Watson told TOI after the final.
Vijayshree Shaktawat, Hemant Kasana and 14-year-old Ananya Agarwal were the other members of the triumphant team. The Cavallo Polo Barn team was represented by Vishal Singh, Balbir Singh, Shreyash Bissa and Yash Bhati.tnn
