State Notifies 44 New Wetlands | Jaipur News

Jaipur: To mark World Water Day on March 22, the state government on Tuesday notified 44 water bodies as wetlands. The Department of Environment and Climate Change said it has identified 44 wetlands in different districts of the state and issued a draft notification as per provisions of the Wetlands (Conservation and Management) Rules, 2017.
“Any person will be able to give their suggestions or objections regarding these wetlands to the Department of Environment and Climate Change within 60 days. Based on the suggestions and objections received … (decision on use) of water for mining and commercial purposes within the boundary of wetlands (will be taken),” reads the statement released by the department.
