Jaisalmer: In two different cases of doda post smuggling, Barmer police arrested two smugglers and recovered 369kg of doda post. Police also seized two motorcycles used for this smuggling.
SP Digant Anand said that while blockading in Samdadi police station, police asked a cruiser classic and a pulsar motorcycle escorting the vehicle to stop, but both drove away breaking the blockading. Police chased them but the driver escaped taking advantage of darkness.
The motorcycle rider, identified as Kesharam (22), resident of Baytu police station area was detained. Police found 279kg doda post worth Rs 10 lakh in black sacks. Police arrested Kesharam and seized the two vehicles. A case was lodged under the NDPS Act and the accused is being inquired.
In another incident, in Dhorimanna area, police raided a house of doda post smuggler Babulal Vishnoi, a resident of Kheechado Ka Bas Katrala and recovered 90kg doda post.However, Babulal getting the hint of police, escaped from the spot. Police have registered a case in NDPS act and the accused is being searched for.
