Abvp Marches To Ru Vc’s Residence | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The ABVP staged a protest on Monday at the main gate of University of Rajasthan with 12 demands, one of which was ending “police interference” in the university campus. Last week, during the varsity’s syndicate meeting on June 28, ABVP activists wanted to submit a memorandum to the vice-chancellor but police lathi-charged them and drove them away.
ABVP members also took out a rally from the main gate to the vice-chancellor’s residence. Their demands included announcing the date for the admission test for PhD, filling vacant academic and non-academic positions, increasing the number of seats for UG and PG courses, increasing hostel seats and constructing new hostels, establishing a placement cell, renovation of old buildings by allocating additional budget for it, wi-fi facilities in the campus, starting the central library at the earliest, recruiting female guards for the women’s hostel, and resolving the issue of waterlogging at the gate.
Upmanyu Rana, a senior member of ABVP’s Jaipur unit, said, “Regardless of the police action, ABVP activists are not afraid. We will continue to raise students’ issues in the campus.”
