Advocates Take Out Rally, Seek Protection Act | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The agitating lawyers on Friday took out a rally here to press for their demand for advocates protection Act in the light of violence against lawyers.
The rally began from the district court near the collectorate and culminated at the high court near Ambedkar Circle.
The rally disrupted traffic for the fifth consecutive day on Friday and daily commuters had a tough time.
The lawyers have been agitating since the brutal murder of their peer Jugraj Singh Chauhan in Jodhpur last Saturday. They boycotted courts demanding compensation for the family of the deceased lawyer.
The issue has now snowballed into a huge protest with the lawyers seeking the Advocate Protection Act as promised by Congress in its manifesto.
Jaipur Bar association general secretary Manoj Kumar Sharma said a committee constituted to decide the future course of action decided to send a delegation to the mahapanchayat to be held in Jodhpur on Sunday.
He said a meeting will be held on the high court premises here on Monday to decide on the agitation.
