alwar: Alwar minor ‘gang-raped’, alleges dad, accuses govt of bribe attempt | Jaipur News

ALWAR: The father of the 15-year-old hearing and speech-impaired girl, who was found in an injured state on a flyover in Alwar a fortnight back, claimed on Monday that his daughter told him in sign language that she was gang-raped by two persons.

The father further accused district collector, Nanu Mal Paharia, of offering bribes in form of money and land to remain silent. The district collector refuted the allegation.
The girl’s father addressed a press conference here and said, “My daughter has stated that she was raped by two persons. Usne esharon se bola do logon ne galat kaam kiya hai (she said in sign language that two persons did the wrong thing). Police is not allowing me to meet her. I have been pressured and the government and local administration is offering me bribes.”
The father then accused the Alwar collector of luring him with money and land. “When the district collector met me in Jaipur, he told me that some money and land would be given to us and asked us to keep mum. Every now and then the police call me for questioning and I am not allowed to even go to the loo alone,” he alleged.
Refuting the allegations, Paharia told TOI, “The charges are far from truth. I had met the girl’s father when deputy superintendent of police Anjali Jorwal was accompanying me.”
‘Girl’s medical reports did not confirm rape’
Paharia told TOI, “We facilitated things that the family is entitled to under the government schemes. I never offered any bribe or favour to him.” The girl was found badly injured and bleeding on the Alwar flyover by passersby on the night of January 11. Police initially suspected it to be a rape case. Later, the police claimed that the girl’s medical reports did not authenticate rape. They sent samples of the crime spot and other evidence to the Forensic Science laboratory. Faced with criticism from opposition parties, the state government recommended a probe by the CBI, which is yet to take up or decline the case.
