Ambulance Staff Nurse Beaten Up As Patient Dies | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Attendants thrashed a government ambulance nurse following the death of an 80-year-old patient suffering from tuberculosis in Beawar on Wednesday morning. The patient died while on way from Beawar district hospital to JLN Hospital in Ajmer. His attendants alleged that there was no oxygen in the ambulance, but officials said that it was a new advanced life support ambulance with oxygen facilities.
The 108 ambulance service received a call from Beawar district hospital for shifting a critically-ill patient from the hospital to JLN hospital at 8.43am. The ambulance reached at 8.49am within 6 minutes. At 8.50am, it sped towards JLN Hospital. “When the ambulance had covered 4km, the nurse deployed with the ambulance examined the patient and found his condition deteriorating. As JLN Hospital was quite far, he decided to return to Beawar district hospital for immediate treatment. However, when the doctor examined the patient he had passed away,” said Bhanu Soni, spokesperson of EMRI-GHS.
He said that following the death of the patient, his attendants thrashed the nurse Ram Kumar Sahu.
Sahu has given a written complaint to police.
