Jaipur: Resident doctors of Sawai Man Singh Medical College have written to National Medical Commission (NMC) to appoint only medical postgraduates as teachers in medical colleges.
Dr Rajesh Kumawat, a leader of the resident doctors at SMS Hospital, said that non-medical teachers, who have not done MBBS, were teaching subjects like anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and microbiology. “Only MBBS graduates with relevant postgraduate qualifications can effectively teach these subjects,” the resident doctors wrote to NMC.
