Ashok Gehlot: Cm Approves Plan To Give Scooters To 30k Female Students | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday approved a proposal to increase the number of scooters given to meritorious female students in the state to 30,000 from 20,000.
The chief minister had announced increasing the number of scooters in the budget for financial year 2023-24. Under the Kalibai Bhil Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana and Devnarayan Scooty Yojana, meritorious girl students will now also get the option of buying an electric scooter, said officials. Girl students can take option at the time of online application.
Under the scheme, if all the girl students apply for e-scooty, then the state government will spend Rs 390 crore.
Under the Kalibai Bhil Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana for female students of all categories 4162 scooters will be given from higher education department, for 12th passed girl students of SC category 2463 will be given through social justice and empowerment department. For general category and economically backward class 12th passed girl students 1477 will be given from secondary education department. For minority class 12th passed girl students 1848 will be given from the minority affairs department. TNN
