Ashok Gehlot: Honorarium Of Part-time Priests Hiked To 5k Per Month | Jaipur News
Jaipur: hief minister Ashok Gehlot has increased the honorarium of part-time priests serving in state direct charge temples from Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 per month to ensure their financial well-being. The government has approved Rs 5.93 crore for repairs, decoration, painting and overall upgradation of 390 state direct charge temples and 203 state self-reliant temples. The honorarium of part-time priests in self-sufficient temples had also previously been raised to Rs 5,000.
These funds will facilitate necessary improvements, including dressing, painting, and repair works, to ensure the temples’ structural integrity and enhance the spiritual experience for devotees.
The announcement for temple repairs and upgradation was made during the 2023-24 state Budget.
