MUMBAI: Taking a dig at BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis’s statement that he was present during the Babri mosque demolition, the Shiv Sena on Tuesday said that the names of many Shiv Sena leaders and Shiv Sainiks are in the chargesheet of the Babri demolition case and asked if Fadnavis had become ‘Mr India’ to have hit the Babri dome with a hammer.
The Shiv Sena in its mouthpiece, Saamna, said that Shiv Sena leaders and activists had indeed participated in the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992.

“BJP leaders in Maharashtra should get more information from the then national vice president of BJP Sundar Singh Bhandari about who demolished the Babri structure. Bhandari is not alive today, but on December 6, at 4 pm, Bhandari made it clear on behalf of the BJP that ‘there was no BJP hand in the demolition of Babri but the Shiv Sainiks who must have done it’,” the Saamna said in an editorial.
“Shouldn’t history have recorded that Fadnavis broke through the rising sea of Hindus and climbed Babri’s dome and continued to strike it with hammers…? Sena asked.
