Backlog Of Vacancies For Divyangs Since 1995 To Be Filled In All Depts | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The office of the commissioner for specially-abled persons (disability court) has asked all the government departments to submit the roster registers of backlog vacancies, appointments and promotions of persons with disabilities (PwDs) in their departments through reservation (from 1995 to 2023). The order was issued to the directorate of specially-abled persons on April 24, 2023.
State commissioner for specially-abled persons, Uma Shankar Sharma, said if irregularities are found in appointments and promotions of specially-abled persons in any department, fresh advertisements will be issued in filling those posts.
The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights, and full Participation) Act, 1995, had mandated 3% reservation for PwDs in government jobs and promotions. Later, it was increased to 4% under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
“The court passed order dated August 2, 2022, and directed various departments to provide details regarding backlog vacancies relating to specially-abled category and also sought details regarding nodal officers appointed by the department in compliance with the circular dated December 1, 2021, issued by the government of Rajasthan,” mentioned an order issued by the commissioner on April 24, 2023.
It said compliance of the above-mentioned order had not been made.
