Bank Junks Transfers After Court Intervenes |

Jaipur: Following the intervention of the court of commissioner for specially-abled persons, the UCO bank – a public sector bank – cancelled its order to transfer two of its employees to far off branches of the bank.
The two employees – Rahul Mittal and Deepak Kumar – had filed petitions with the court for specially-abled persons challenging their transfers to far off branches of the bank.
Uma Shankar Sharma, state commissioner for specially-abled persons, in one his orders said, “This application has been filed by an applicant (Rahul Mittal, who is a resident of Murlipura, Jaipur) stating that his seven-year-old son is specially abled and needs daily speech therapy. He has been transferred 110 km away i.e., Kotputli. He seeks a direction to the respondent (UCO bank) to cancel his transfer order.”
“The notices were issued, and the respondent submitted its reply through a letter dated April 26, 2023. During the hearing, the respondent agreed for cancellation of the transfer order and on May 11, 2023, submitted a reply through a letter that the transfer order of applicant has been cancelled. It was further submitted that the applicant has been posted again in Chandpole branch, where he was working earlier,” Sharma said. “The desired relief has already been granted and, therefore, the case is disposed of.”
In the other order, Sharma, observed, “This application has been filed by the applicant (Deepak Kumar, who is a resident of Srimadhopur, Sikar) stating that the applicant is a specially-abled person (low vision). After promotion to the post of Single Window Operator-A, he was transferred 60 km away from his hometown. He seeks a direction to the respondent to cancel his transfer order and pass orders to post him in a nearby place to his hometown or keep him posted at the earlier office.”
“The notices were issued, and the respondent submitted its reply through a letter dated May 18, 2023. During the hearing, the respondent agreed for cancellation of the transfer order,” he added.
