Beat Workers: Govt Issues 2 Notices To Ex-mayor Of Jmc-h, Seeks Her Explanation | Jaipur News
In the first notice, the government asked Gurjar to provide clarifications on her role in the appointment of beat sanitary workers and about her behaviour with the additional commissioner of JMC-H, Rajendra Verma, when he refused to sign the file related to this appointment process. The two notices were issued by Hridesh Kumar, director of the department of local bodies.
“Varma had lodged an FIR against Munesh Gurjar and 13 other councillors, alleging of inappropriate behaviour. Although the government did not take any steps against Gurjar at that time, a notice seeking her explanation on this case was issued on Monday,” said a government official.
Gurjar was removed from the post on the wee hours of August 6, a day after Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested her husband for reportedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakhs for a land lease case.
In the second notice, the government sought an explanation from Gurjar on why there was delay in issuing the lease for this land, and her role as a mayor in this case.
The alleged ruckus between Gurjar and Verma started when JMC-H was appointing 500 sanitation beat workers (five for each of the 100 wards).
