Bhankrota: 2 Hurt As Miscreants Open Fire At Suv In Bhankrota | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Two men were injured after two miscreants shot at them on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway under Bhankrota police station early Sunday morning.
ACP (Bagru) Anil Kumar Sharma said that Daya Ram (30) sustained a bullet wound near his abdomen area, whereas a bullet grazed Dharam Chand Choudhary’s (31) elbow.
The police suspect a dispute over money as the primary cause of the firing incident. Based on the primary investigation, police are searching for two suspects identified as Kamlesh Sharma and Ved Prakash.
As per police officers, the incident took place shortly after 4.30 am when Sonu Sharma (32) a native of Sainthal town of Dausa, was travelling with his friends Bharat (29), Ram and Choudhary in his SUV.
“Sonu had recently purchased an SUV from Prakash. There was a dispute of Rs 28,000 between them,” Sharma said.
The sources in police also said that they have come across rivalry over escort services in the firing incident. “We have learnt that there were two groups involved in online escort services, the fissures appeared between these groups, and they turned against each other soon after,” said an official.
“Sonu lived in Gandhi Path near Vaishali Nagar and operates a cafe in Kanota area. He was travelling with his friends when Prakash and Kamlesh rammed their vehicle into Sonu’s SUV,” official added.
Taken aback, Sonu and his friends saw Prakash hurtling toward them and ran for cover. “Prakash opened fire which hit Choudhary and Ram. Sonu managed to find a hiding place to dodge bullets,” the official added.
Sonu and Bharat then returned to the highway and took bleeding Ram and Choudhary to a nearby hospital. The police control room learnt about the gunshots immediately after the incident and dispatched a night patrolling unit from the Bhankrota police station to the scene.
In the morning, the senior forensic officer Abhay Pratap Singh and his team collected samples from the highway. “We have recovered two emptycartridge cases of 7.65, and two pieces of a bullet,” Singh said. “There is a construction project underway on the same highway road. So, traffic moves through a narrow stretch on either side of the highway. We had to stop the vehicular movement for nearly 15 minutes to collect samples from the crime scene,” said an official.
The Jaipur police said that different teams have fanned out to arrest the accused involved in the crime. “The primary prone indicates that the gunman used an illegal weapon to attack the two men,” the official said.
The internet shutdown due to the ongoing teacher recruitment exam also impeded the manhunt as they could not widely share the photos of the suspects.
